William (Bill) J Paparella

William (Bill) J. Paparella was promoted to glory at the age of 63 on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, while at home with family at his side.

Bill was born June 28, 1954 in Schenectady, NY. He attended Mohonasen High School and continued on to receive a Bachelor’s degree from SUNY Plattsburgh. Following college, he worked as a production Control Manager at Al Tec Specialty Steel Corporation.

As a lifelong musician, Bill will always be remembered for his contagious love for music as well his great sense of humor. He loved to play guitar at home and percussion in the Salvation Army Schenectady Citadel brass band. Bill was a faithful member of the Salvation Army where he also served as Assistant Sergeant Major and as a member of the Corps Council. During the Christmas Kettle effort, he spent countless hours attending the red kettle.

Bill is lovingly remembered by his wife of 40 years, Jean Paparella; and his children, Rachel and Matthew Paparella. He will also be remembered by his grandchildren, Tatum Paparella and Gianna Paparella-Culnan; as well as his sisters, Pamela and Patricia Paparella.

Calling hours will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Bekkering-Ellis Funeral Home, 1 Mohawk Ave,, Scotia, NY.

Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2018 also at Bekkering-Ellis Funeral Home.

Followed by an Internment service at Park Cemetery, Scotia, NY.
