William F Godfrey

William F. Godfrey Ballston Lake- William Godfrey passed away peacefully at Schenectady Center Rehab. on January 31, 2024.

William was born on December 28, 1940 to Alfred Godfrey and Agnes M. Matty of Scotia. He has a twin sister Barb who passed away in 2020 and sister Janet who is living; also sister in law Sandy And Steve Hussell.

He graduated from Scotia- Glenville HS and joined the U.S. Navy 1960-1966 for active duty, stayed in the reserves until 1989. He worked at GE as a steam fitter for 36 years.

William married Shirley in 1966 and they had 2 children together, Bill Jr. and Tina Harrigan, 58 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

William enjoyed RVing, helping others and spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids. He loved being outside doing yardwork or talking to the neighbors.

Visitation will be held on February 5th from 9 to 11 a.m. at Bekkering - Ellis Funeral Home, 1 Mohawk Ave Scotia, Services will follow at 11 a.m.

Burial will be held at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
