A pilgrim is one who travels to a holy place. Sue’s pilgrimage on Earth began on January 1st, 1940.
She was born in Schenectady, the daughter of the late Harold and Helen Truesdell. She graduated from MPHS in 1958. Two years later she married the love of her life, Joe. Her pilgrimage continued as she and Joe moved to Greenville and then to Scotia New York.
She was the proud mother of David, Jimmy (Michelle) and Laurie. Her family continued to grow to include her grandchildren, Danielle, Zachary (Tara), Andrew (Taylor), Corey and Julianna as well as her great grandchildren, Arhianna and Gia, cousins, nieces, nephews and special friend Bruno.
She loved her family, traveling, and helping others. Sue was a volunteer for the Cub Scouts, PTA (Honorary Life Member), Scotia Food Pantry, St. Joseph’s Church, and Birthright. She was predeceased by her parents and her sister, Rita.
A viewing will be held at the Bekkering Ellis Funeral Home, located at 1 Mohawk Ave, Scotia, New York 12302 on Friday, May 2nd from 7 to 9 p.m. A mass will be held at St.Joseph’s Church in Scotia on Monday, May 5th at 10 a.m.
At Susan’s request, please donate to a favorite charity or to Hospice, St. Joseph’s Church, or Birthright in Schenectady.
Sue’s motto was PHD (Prayer. Help someone. Do a good deed.)
