Stephen Frank Garbe

Stephen Frank Garbe, 49, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Ellis Hospital. He was born April 19, 1966 in Manhattan, NY to Halbert and Mary Jean (Ringlehan)Garbe. Stephen attended Niskayuna High School and Schenectady County Community College, where he received a degree in business administration. He was the senior water treatment plant operator for the city of Schenectady. Stephen was a loving husband and father that loved spending time with his family. He was a computer expert who was everybody's personal tech support specialist. Stephen loved sports, especially the Yankees and the Dallas Cowboys. He also loved playing golf, and loved his dog, Max. Stephen is survived by his loving wife, Theresa, whom he married on June 20, 1992 in Scotia, NY. He is also survived by sons, Keith D. Burke of Maryland, Scott M. Burke of Conneticut; a sister, Rebecca (Jeff) Laird of Massachusetts; a brother, James (Karen) Garbe of Duanesburg, NY; as well as several nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Services will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 18 at the Bekkering-Ellis Funeral Home Inc., 1 Mohawk Ave., Scotia. Calling hours will be Thursday, March 17 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. Contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Stephen's memory.
