Scott Michael Burke, 34, passed away on June 26th at Ellis Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Scott was born in Schenectady on April 22nd, 1983 to Theresa A. Garbe and Brien J. Burke. Scott graduated from Schenectady High School.

He enjoyed traveling and never stayed in one place for too long, earning the title as our families "Rolling Stone." Scott lived in several locations over recent years including Florida, Maryland, and most recently in Schenectady, NY where he was employed as a landscaper for Blade Runner Landscaping. Scott spent many hours on his cell phone playing "Game of War," which he loved. When he wanted to take a break from his phone, he enjoyed numerous activities that included a love for photography, bowling, fishing, and hunting.

Scott was a loving son, brother, father, grandson, and a friend to all who knew him. Scott had an infectious smile that could brighten even the darkest of rooms as well as the spirits of the people around him.

Scott is survived by his mother, Theresa A. Garbe of Schenectady; his father, Brien J. Burke (Nancy Masick) of Rotterdam; his three children, Brianna Burke of Rotterdam Junction, Tanya and William Burke of Maryland; his brothers, Keith D. Burke of Maryland and Joshua B. Burke of North Carolina; and his maternal grandparents, Gordon and Patricia Snyder of Burnt Hills. He was predeceased by his step-father, Stephen F. Garbe; his aunt, Laura J. Pellerin; his paternal grandparents, Alfred and Florence Burke; and his great-grandmother, Ann Kalinowski. Scott is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Scott was taken from his family and friends far too soon but he will be forever loved, missed, and will remain forever young in our hearts.

Calling hours will be held at Bekkering-Ellis Funeral Home, 1 Mohawk Ave., Scotia, NY 12302 on Friday, June 30th from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church located at 400 Saratoga Road, Glenville, NY 12302 on Saturday, July 1st at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at the Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery located at 2501 Troy-Schenectady Road in Niskayuna.
