Dear Shopmeyer Family,
I was so sorry to hear about Ruth. My mother and Ruth were tight friends for all their lives beginning in CNR till.... well, till. As my sister Lynn said, thats a real rarity. I never knew Ruth was a Math major like my mom, or that Ruth introduced my father and mother. ( On their first date the dashing Warren took Maeve out to eat... knockwurst.. She had a bad reaction and as long as I knew her couldn't stand hotdogs. Im surprised they got together again!) I do remember we visited Ruth and your Dad in upstate New York... perhaps descended on Ruth and your Dad is better.... there were so many of us. As the years went on and after my dad died my sister Debby took Maeve up to visit Ruth, and when my mom couldn't travel after her stroke, Debby would read my mom Ruth's letters. I know they meant the world to my mom to hear her friend's words and remember the good old days. Please know my thoughts are with you. The best friends are together again.
