Roger Gary Bollock, 69, passed away peacefully at home on August 2, 2024, after a long-term illness.
Born on April 24, 1955, in Niskayuna, to the late Raymond and Barbara (House) Bollock. Roger grew up in Glenville and attended Scotia Glenville Schools. He retired in 2015 from his Security position at Ellis Hospital. He was a past member and Chief of Glenville Hill Fire Department, followed by a member and Commissioner of Beukendaal Fire Department. Roger loved the outdoors and camping in the Adirondacks with his family. He was always busy with work, family and the community until he was no longer able.
Roger leaves behind his loving wife of 18 years, Linda Tymchyn Bollock, former wife and mother of his children Dawn Bollock, daughters Jennie Bennett (Trent), Tracy Kirker (Richard), stepsons Chris Furman (Kristie), Michael Furman, grandchildren Ryan Bekkering (Jessica), Kyle Bekkering (Kristin), Marissa Greeley (Maxwell), Aiden Kirker, Logan Bennett, Derek Bennett, Caleb Furman, great grandchildren Kaylie Bekkering, Theo Bekkering and Averie Bekkering. He was also survived by his brothers Raymond Bollock and Robert Bollock (Helene). In addition to his parents, Roger was predeceased by his brother Richard Bollock.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bekkering-Ellis Funeral Home, 1 Mohawk Ave, Scotia. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
