Robert L O'Leary

Scotia - Robert L. O’Leary passed away peacefully on Friday, Dec 9, 2016 at the Baptist Health & Nursing Center in Scotia, NY, with his family by his side.

Born in Glens Falls, NY on August 10, 1926, the son of Leo R. O’Leary and Cecelia (Prevost) O’Leary. He graduated from Catholic Central High School in Troy, NY in 1944. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force and served until the war was over.

Robert then went to work for Verizon and spent 40 years as a successful employee of the company. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.

Robert was predeceased by his sisters, Rita Mc-Cumber and Helen Jennings. Also daughter-in-law, Teresa O’Leary.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Barbara A. (Stahl) O’Leary; sons, Kevin, David and John; grandson, Robert G. O’Leary; granddaughters, Emily O’Leary and Megan (William) Woodward; also several nephews and nieces.

A Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church, Scotia, NY, 10 a.m., Tuesday, with a calling hour one hour prior to the mass will be held in the Holy Family Hall at the church.

Interment will be at the St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Glenville, NY.
