Richard B. Peabody, 82, passed away Monday, February 13, 2017 at home after a long battle with cancer.

He was born on May 20, 1934 in Keeseville, NY and resided in Glenville, NY.

He graduated Nott Terrace H.S. in 1952. Richard owned Peabody Refinishing and was a school bus driver for BHBL. He served in the military for 36 years with the NYARNG, 19SF Group, USAR. He was a member of the Elks, 19th Special Forces Association.

Richard enjoyed traveling in his motor home, some winters in the Keys in Florida, and the Saratoga Racetrack.

He was married on June 28, 1964 to Alberta (Manilla) Peabody in Connecticut.

His parents were Harry O. Peabody and Marie (Hecker) Peabody. He was deceased by his daughter, Mary Elizabeth Peabody.

Survivors inlcude his wife, Alberta; sons, Brian (Malissa) Peabody; grandchildren, Zacary and Anthony; Richard Peabody Jr., Michael Peabody; grandchildren, Chris and Lena Scott Peabody; daughter, Lynn (Todd) Kverek; grandchild, Luke; sisters, Joyce Lynne Russell, Harrietta Lippincott; brother, Albert Peabody.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, February 16, 2017 at the Church of The Immaculate Conception in Glenville.

Burial will be at The Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
