Dick graduated from Johnstown High School in 1948. Dick served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict from 1948-1952, rising to the rank of S/Sgt. He was a lifetime member of the Power Generation Professional Employees Association. Dick was very active in many organizations. He was a 62 year member of the Johnstown Moose Lodge #1185 and a lifetime member of both the Gloversville Concordia Club and the Hudson-Mohawk Old-Time Power Equipment Association. Dick was also a member of the Fort Plain American Legion Post #554, Hudson-Mohawk Theatre Organ Society and the Cranesville Country Cousins Seniors. Near and dear to Dick was his membership in the Eastern Regional Horse Association. At the age of 80 he realized one of his dreams was to learn to drive a team of draft horses. So after much practice, Dick competed in his first draft horse competition in September 2015 at the age of 85, finishing in third place. Dick was predeceased by his sister, Geraldine; and his brother, Don. He is survived by his loving wife, Deb, of 26 years.
