Richard J. Berger Jr., 74, died Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at home.

Richard was born September 6, 1942 to the late Richard J. Sr. and Marion (Bethmann) Berger in Schenectady, NY and has been a lifetime area resident.

Richard was a graduate of Scotia-Glenville High School. He worked as a landscaper, self employed and a past District Manager at the Gazette Newspapers. Richard was a member of the Eagles, Schenectady, also the Yaddo Garden Club in Saratoga Springs, NY.

Richard was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Susan Berger Vespa. He is survived by his niece, Mia Coppolo, Schenectady; two grand-nieces; two grand-nephews; one great-great-niece; and one great-great-nephew.

Calling will be Friday, February 24, 2017 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Bekkering Ellis Funeral Home Inc., 1 Mohawk Ave., Scotia, NY 12302. Burial will take place in the Oakwood Cemetery Mausoleum, Troy, NY.
