My deepest sympathies to Rev. Hamm's wife and family. He was a lovely person. I met him when he was pastor of the First Reformed Church in Athens, NY. He visited me several times when I was in the hospital for an extended time. On one visit my brother and his wife were there at the same time, bickering as they often do. A smile came over Rev. Hamm's face and he said "I wish my wife were here". Praying for God's comfort to you all.

Norm and I knew each other through Schenectady Classis when he served on the Search and Supervision Committee. He often spoke warmly of his family-- his love, his care and concern for each. Norm was a quiet, gentle person with an obvious love for his calling. May God bless him as he enters the Kingdom.

My sincerest condolences to Norman's wife and family. I babysat him and his brother for many years and our family attended the Old Saratoga Dutch Reformed Church in Schuylerville with his family. His mom was my Sunday School Teacher and his dad was our mailman. A wonderful family and many happy memories. May his memories sustain his family in this very difficult time.
