Ralph Deamer Obituary

Ralph L. Deamer East Berne, NY - Ralph L. Deamer, 78, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2024, at St. Peter's Community Hospice Inn, surrounded by love with family at his side.

Ralph was born in Scotia, NY on October 11, 1945. He graduated from Scotia Glenville High School in 1964. He started work at GE Insulated Materials in 1966 before transitioning to Lockheed Martin Radioactive Materials Laboratory as a Technician where he retired in 1999. He married the love of his life Nellie Deamer on July 12, 1969, and was married for 54 years. Ralph was a family man and will be remembered as a devoted husband and father. Forever proud of his children.

Ralph spent many summers with his family and lifelong friends at McMurray's on Sacandaga Lake taking over the Deamer family camp. He could be seen racing across the lake in his blue checkmate, his red and white browning, and eventually the family pontoon boat. He enjoyed boating, fishing, and chatting around the campfire. He loved vacationing in Thousand Islands at Cedar Point State Park and Angel Rock Cottages, both he considered his home away from home.

Ralph will be remembered for his big heart and outgoing personality. He loved meeting people and would stop and talk to everyone, making friends wherever he went. His friends becoming family. He truly loved each of them and if you knew him, you knew it.

Ralph is predeceased by his parents Joseph Deamer Sr. and Evelyn (Teater) Deamer, his brothers Victor and Richard Deamer and sister Dorothy Olsen. He is survived by his wife Nellie (Lamphear) Deamer. His daughter Rebecca Deamer and his son Jeffrey Deamer. His brother Joseph (Cathy) Deamer Jr. and sister Diane (Helen) Deamer. He was known as the fun-loving Uncle Ralph to his many nieces and nephews.
