Peter B Scofield

Peter B. Scofield, 69, of Scotia, NY, passed away on April 4, 2016. He was the son of the late Irma and Hampton Scofield. He grew up in Cold Spring, NY, graduated from Our Lady of Lourdes High School in Poughkeepsie, NY and attended Marist College. Peter worked for the Albany Home for Children (Parsons Child and Family Center), for EnCon in the AV Department and Conservationist magazine. His love for photography, along with his artistic sensibility and independent spirit led to him forming The Photographers and Company and a 40 year career which he thoroughly enjoyed. He was a member of The Edison Club for 30 years. He also loved boating and camping on Lake George, skiing,and traveling both for business and pleasure. He truly cherished all the friendships that he made. Peter is survived by Christie, his wife of 47 years. Their sons, Peter (Molly) of Greenfield Center and Andrew of Schenectady; and his beloved grandson, Thomas; his sisters, Susan Scofield of Cold Spring, Ellen (Michael) Seidman of Ogdensburg; his brother-in-law, Bob McMorris (Shirley) of Richmondville; and several nieces and a nephew. Donations may be made to the Schenectady Day Nursery, 25 Lafayette St., Schenectady, NY 12305 or the Regional Food Bank, 965 Albany-Shaker Rd., Latham, NY 12110. Calling hours will be at the Bekkering-Ellis Funeral Home, Scotia, NY between 5 to 7 p.m. on April 7, 2016. Family and friends are also invited to join in a celebration of Peter's life on Saturday, April 23, at the Turf Tavern, Scotia from 4 to 6 p.m.
