Molly Marie Caruso, 94, passed away peacefully with family by her side on May 15, 2017. She was born on March 28, 1923 in Canastota, NY. She was the daughter of Alfio and Rosa Licciardello. Molly was a 1941 graduate of Canastota High School.
Molly married John F. Caruso on November 4, 1942 at St. Agatha's Church in Canastota. They had a wonderful life raising family, traveling and enjoying friends.
After high school, Molly settled in Schenectady where she was employed by the General Electric Company. She worked at their flight test site in Glenville, tested students at their nuclear training school, and was the executive secretary to the General Manager at KAPL.
Molly loved to bake, garden and read. She centered her life around her family.
Everyone who knew Molly loved her. Her family and friends cherished her ability to listen, care and love unconditionally. Her warm heart was always open for conversation and her door was always open for a cup of coffee.
She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, John Caruso. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Mary Hatlee and her brother, Thomas Licciardello. She is survived by her sisters Lucy Ruggiero and Nancy Westfall.
Molly is survived by her son George Caruso of Rotterdam and her daughter Rosemary Lawless of Scotia. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Dr. Gregory (Laura) Lawless of Clifton Park, Lisa (Wally) Bzdell of Scotia, and Patrick (Katie) Caruso of Mayfield. She is also survived by her pride and joy, her seven great grandchildren: Keith and Molly Lawless, Alex and Dylan Bzdell, and Nico, Ryder and Collin Caruso.
Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral which will be on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 9:30 am at the Bekkering-Ellis Funeral Home, Inc., 1 Mohawk Avenue, Scotia, NY 12302. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Glenville. Interment will follow at the St. John The Baptist Cemetery in Schenectady.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital of a charity of your choice.
