Michael Matthew Meehan

Michael Matthew Meehan, 57, of Scotia, NY, passed away at his residence on July 25, 2022 after a period of declining health.

He was born in Queens NY, and was the son of the late Geraldine and Francis J. Meehan. Mike is survived by his siblings, Dennis, Noreen Zido (Tom), Joseph (Millie) & Francis. Nephews, Michael, Frankie & nieces, Jessica, Annie Rose, & great niece, Olivia.

Even though Mike was born with Down Syndrome he enjoyed playing basketball, swimming, dancing and bowling. He enjoyed music and loved his transistor radio.

Michael and his mother moved up to Scotia and he became family with Schenectady ARC, where he received services. He lived at Lewis House, 4 blocks from his Mom. Mike celebrated 2 milestone Birthdays (50 & 55) with his friends and family & received recognition from Senators Tedisco and Santabarbara.

Calling hours will be Thursday July 28 from 4 to 7 at Bekkering-Ellis Funeral Home , 1 Mohawk Ave. Scotia.

Mass will be held on Friday at St. Joseph's Church at 9:30. Burial will be at Saratoga National at a later date at the convenience of the family.
