Don and family, you are all in our thoughts and prayers! How quickly life sometimes seems to have flashed by. What a lovely write-up for your wonderful wife who had accomplished so much! Always thought you looked and spoke like Robert Mitchum: No wonder you were able to find and marry such a beautiful woman. May Maureen forever rest in peace.

Dear Don and family,
Bub informed us of the passing away of Maureen. I'm sure she will be missed terrribly by you. She was such a wonderful woman. The times we spent with you are very dear to us, and Maureen was very hospitable taking us all in when we came for a surprise visit from the netherlands for hill and karolyns 90th birthday party, organizing a wonderful barbecue for all the bekkering family at your home, and not to forget pointing out the red cardinal in the garden to my mum and me. We wish you strength carrying this loss, which comes much too early, although we understood she was not well for a long time. With love, on behave of the Deen family, jeanine

Dear Don and family,
Think of stepping on the shore
And finding it heaven!
Of going from storm and tempest
To an unknown calm,
Of taking hold of a hand
And finding it God's hand,
Of waking and finding it Home!
My heartfelt sympathy on your loss of Maureen. May God keep you in His care and bring you comfort during this most difficult time.

In 1975 I was a newly licensed RN. Maureen Bekkering was my preceptor.
It only took me a few hours that first shift, to recognize Maureen was the kind of nurse I aspired to be.
46 years later I retired, still practicing the Art of Nursing that she taught me. My sincere condolences to you all.

To Don Bekkering and family, I am Mary Anne Harrison Styczynski (Maureen's mother's first cousin---the Watervliet relations). I haven't seen Maureen in many years but have remembrances of her as a child and young woman. I especially remember her sweetness and kindness when she was my nurse at Bellevue for me and my second child. I also used to run into her many years ago in some of the Glenville markets and will always remember her beautiful smiles and greetings. I am so sorry what all of you have gone through especially in the last week with Maureen's illness and the death of Jas also. Please accept my heartfelt condolences for all of you.
Sincerely Mary Anne and Jack Styczynski
It was by a phone call from Frank Farrell that I learned about Jas and Maureen's passing.
