Welcome to the memorial page for

Mary (Maimone) Fuller

February 26, 1936 ~ May 12, 2017 (age 81) 81 Years Old

Mary Maimone Fuller, 81, of Glenville, NY and Vero Beach, Florida, entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 12, 2017, after a long and fulfilling life.

Born on February 26, 1936, she was the youngest child of Joseph and Carmela Maimone. She was raised in the "Goose Hill" neighborhood of Schenectady and attended Nott Terrace High School. An avid swimmer, Mary was a dedicated lifeguard throughout her teenage years at Steinmetz Park, followed by 19 years in the Meat Dept. at Loblaws Market. Mary has a zest for life. She loved cooking, shopping, decorating, jewelry and shiny new Cadillac's! Known as "The General", she had a feisty, aggressive "get it done" soul and needed everything in order. Her hands were rarely still and many were amazed at the amount she could accomplish in one day. No one rested until every last thing was done and the fridge was tied shut! Entertaining her family and friends brought her the most joy, and she could easily put on a feast for 50 with a few hours notice!!! Mary was an avid golfer and proud member of the Vero Beach Moose Lodge 1822.

She lost her husband of 33 years, Robert Fuller, in 1995; and her "rebel" companion, Joe Spataro, in 2010.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Claude (Patricia) Schaeffer, Charlie (Kathy) Schaeffer and Tom (Tammy) Schaeffer. She was predeceased by her daughter, Susan (Wayne) MacFee. With a lifetime of lessons and memories from their "Nan", her surviving grandchildren are, Stephanie, Nicole, Christopher Schaeffer, Kerri (Matt) Collis, Charlie (Ilana) Schaeffer, Laura (Ed) Ash, Kyrstal (Rick) Vaughn, Mike (Jessica) Schaeffer, Kourtnie (Ken) Ahlers, Tommy Schaeffer and Mark MacFee. Great-grandchildren, Kayla, Ricky, Kaydence, Annmarie, Tyson, Natalie and Jack. She leaves behind her sister, Louise Gorsinski; and was predeceased by her sister, Amelia Puglisi; and brothers, Santo, Angelo and Anthony (Helen) Maimone; along with numerous nieces & nephews.

Many deeply loved friends, especially her lifelong friend of 81 years, Corinne VanOort; best friends, Connie and George Fry; and "adopted family", Scott and Rhonda Dawson. The family would like to thank Dr. Peter and Stephanie Copstio for their continued love, support and prayers. Along with the C-1 nurses at Ellis Hospital for their care and compassion.
