Kenneth John Sebis passed away August 31, 2017, at the age of 86, after a valiant fight with Lymphoma.
Ken was born on February 26, 1931, to Eula (Sauer) and John Sebis. He was a member of the Scotia United Methodist Church. Ken graduated from Scotia High School and went on to receive a degree from Siena College.
His keen interest in health and science led him to New York City where he received his doctorate in chiropractic health care. He had a chiropractic practice for a number of years, then became an operating room technician at St. Clare's Hospital, and later as a respiratory therapist at several area locations, retiring in 1992 from Ellis Hospital.
Ken married, Shirley Pooler, in 1993 and in their earlier years enjoyed traveling to Great Britain, Ireland, and stateside to Alaska, Florida and many states in between. He also enjoyed spending time with his loving family.
Ken is survived by his wife Shirley; children, Grace Pooler Mead (Bob), Lee (Barbara) Pooler, Tim (Kathie) Pooler; grandchildren, Laura Mead, Rob Mead (Lisa Leighton), Mandi (Matthew) Weeks, Christopher L. Pooler, Jodi Peterson, Michael and Shannon Biggs; great-grandchildren, Noe Leighton Mead, Nathaniel Weeks, Christopher A. Pooler, Ashley Indilicato, Ryan and Kendra Peterson, Michael Jr. and Connor Biggs.
Ken's dedication to science and medicine continues on with his anatomical gift to Albany Medical College.
A memorial service will be announced at a future date.
