Kathryn A. (Wood) Brooks

Kathryn A. Brooks passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 3, 2026 after a long illness.

Kathryn was born on January 12, 1945 in Niskayuna, NY to the late Arthur J. Wood and Helen B. Wood. She graduated from Bishop Gibbons High School in 1963 and later graduated from Albany Business College.

She dedicated 36 years of service to General Electric Research and Development as an Administrative Assistant. She was dedicated to St. Joseph's Church serving as a Eucharistic Minister, Bereavement Minister, and Catechist for the 1st Grade. She also took great pride in volunteering for numerous fundraisers for the church. Her favorite being the Farmer's Market and Ziti Dinners.

Kathryn is survived by her four children, Michael A. Brooks (Tracy) of Fl, Melinda A Brooks of Glenville, James L. Brooks III (Denise) of Rotterdam, and Jeanna Brooks (Kurt) of Glenville, NY. She is survived by three grandchildren Christopher Brooks, Jonathan George and Dominick Brooks. She also leaves behind her beloved greyhound Nosy, and grand dog Greta.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and gratitude to the entire staff at Our Lady Of Mercy in Guilderland, for their excellent care and compassion for not only Kathryn, but the family as well.

The family would also like to thank The Community Hospice in Albany.

Friends and relatives are invited to pay their respects Thursday January 8th at St. Joseph's Church, 231 2nd Street, Scotia, NY 12302 from 9 to 10 a.m., followed by a mass of Christian Burial. Burial will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, 2501 Troy Schenectady Road, Niskayuna, NY.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to NY Wildlife Rescue Center, 167 Llama Lane, Middleburg, NY 12122.
