Kathleen Schaeffer Obituary

Kathleen A. Schaeffer of Glenville, NY, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend whose leadership and love inspired so many, died on November 13th, 2022 after a sudden and devastating battle with breast cancer. She was 63.

She was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY to Carole Chiaramonte of Baldwin, NY & Robert Fucci of Sharon Springs, NY on July 20th,1959.

Kathy had a strong and joyful presence in every life she touched. She had a generous spirit and always found a way to illuminate special moments for her family and friends throughout her life, especially those with Charlie, her husband of over 40 years and their three children Charlie, Laura & Michael.

Kathy was a devoted and protective mother and was a permanent face at every school activity and sports game. Fun-loving and energetic, she was always on the go - shopping, restaurants, going for a drive or anything with the family! She loved her homes in Vero Beach, FL and Lake George, NY and was happiest when she had a full house. Nevertheless, her greatest joy was found in her cherished grandchildren - Annmarie, Natalie, Jack, Mikey, Benjamin and Stevie. Her love for them was immeasurable.

Kathy is predeceased by her brothers, Anthony Chiaramonte and Steven Chiaramonte, her beloved mother-in-law, Mary Fuller and sister-in-law, Susan MacFee.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Charlie (Ilana) Schaeffer, Laura (Edward) Ash, and Michael (Jessica) Schaeffer. Numerous nieces and nephews, Christopher, Stephanie, & Nicole Schaeffer, Mark (Jessica) MacFee, Krystal (Rick) Vaughn, Kerri Collis, Kourtnie (Kenny) Ahlers, Tommy Schaeffer, Christian & Jack Chiaramonte, Merisa, Nathan, & Evyn Schaeffer, Vincent Mordaga, Daniel, Kenneth (Melanie), Mia & Kenny Luetkemeyer. Cousin, "Cuz" Barbara (Joe) Mordaga. Siblings, Tom (Tammy) Schaeffer, Claude (Patricia) Schaeffer, Teddy Schaeffer, Stephen Schaeffer & Sarah Thompson. Many deeply loved friends and neighbors, especially the entire Tamul family and her best friend of over 25 years, Missy Thompson.

Kathy's family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the nursing staff and hospitalists at St. Peters BF-5 as well as the Cospito & McCormick families.
