Martinec, Joseph F. - Scotia
Joe was born at Ellis Hospital on March 4th, 1949, to the late Joseph E. and Lucille T. Martinec .
Joe lived in Scotia all his life until moving to Schenectady in 2017.
Joe attended St. Joseph Elementary school in Scotia and then to Bishop Gibbons graduating in 1969. He then attended the Bryant College, graduating and earning a Bachelor of Business degree.
Joe worked in the family business, Martinec Meat Packing in Scotia until it closed in 1977. Afterwards he was a sales person for Standard Casing. He had done different sales jobs over the years including True Green Lawn Care. He enjoyed his job as a driver for the Enterprise Car Rental.
Joe enjoyed skiing and being an instructor of the sport. Working at West Mountain, Gore and most recently at Windham, NY. He was a proud member of PSIA level 1 Instructor.
He was very proud to serve as a volunteer fireman for Scotia for over 35 years. He was also a 44 year member of the Elks (Scotia) and a 4tyh degree Knight of Columbus.
Joe had 4 corvettes over the years, selling his last one to start his model rail road.
Joe is survived by his wife MaryAnn (Warner), his cherished children Joseph A. Martinec, and Emily Martinec-Chriss and her husband Jeremy.
He also leaves behind his brothers, Phillip Martinec of Colorado, Kenneth Martinec and his wife Jean of Glenville, and his sister Jean Connely of Maryland.
Joe loved his animals and leaves behind, Jake the beagle, Rocky the black lab and Missy the ditzy doodle.
