Jason Kenneth Lambert, 50, of Scotia, NY, passed away suddenly on July 28, 2025, at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady.
Born on March 29, 1975, in Poughkeepsie, NY, Jay was a graduate of Roy C. Ketcham High School and attended SUNY New Paltz. For over 20 years, he worked with dedication and pride at ABD Engineering, building strong relationships and a respected career.
Jay was a gifted artist and photographer whose creativity touched many. A lifelong music lover, he had a deep devotion to the Grateful Dead and found joy and connection through the songs he loved. He was an avid traveler, especially fond of visiting Wildwood, Mexico, and Puerto Rico. Jay was a fan of the New York Yankees and Manchester United, teams he supported with passion and loyalty.
Generous with his time, Jay volunteered as a rec soccer coach and taught in afterschool art programs—always giving back to the community he loved. But his greatest joy, above all else, was his family. He was a devoted and loving husband, a proud and deeply engaged father, and a gentle, grounding presence in the lives of those he loved.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Karen, and their three children: Claire, Stella, and Jack, who were his world. He is also survived by his father, Charles Lambert, and his wife Andrea; his mother, Julie Savino, and her husband Frank; and his siblings: Robin (James), Eric (Jennifer), and Katie (Keith). Jay was a cherished uncle to Gabbie, Ally, Ryan, Farrah, and Mason, as well as a proud great-uncle to Charlotte.
He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents Helen, Walter, and Maxine.
Jay will be remembered for his thoughtfulness, humor, kindness, and generosity. He was a good friend to all—a steady, loving presence with a quick wit and a warm heart.
A memorial service to celebrate Jay’s life will take place on Saturday, August 2, at 11:00 a.m. at Bekkering-Ellis Funeral Home in Scotia.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jay’s memory may be made to Things of My Very Own, a cause close to the family’s heart.
