Janice Irene Naples Murphy passed away on Friday, October 27, 2017 at Saratoga Hospital, with her loving family at her side.  Born in 1944 in Amsterdam, she was the daughter of the late Genaro and Irene Mauro Naples.

Janice was a graduate of Scotia Glenville High School, a proud Tartan of the Class of 1962, as well as a graduate of Albany Business College, earning an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science.  She was an accountant for Alfred H. Maurer, Jr., CPA, for 30 years until her retirement.  For fun after retirement, Jan was a much-loved “lunch lady” for the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake School District for 6 years.

Jan truly enjoyed life to the fullest, especially time with her family and her grandchildren.  She also fully enjoyed her friends and home in Florida.

Jan is survived by her daughters, Kim (Timothy) Meyer and Linda McAuliffe; her sisters, Rosemary (John) Wisniewski and Kathryn (Richard) Carney; grandchildren, Nicole Rose McAuliffe, Sean P. Meyer and Emily G. Meyer; nieces and nephews, John, Laurie and Scott Wisniewski, and Ryan, Derek and Kari-Ann Carney; her dear Aunt Dot, and many cousins; furry friend “me-dog” Calvin; life-long best friend and “partner in crime” Gayle (Leffler)Angelo; as well as dear friends, Russell and Carolyn VanValkenburgh, along with their children, Thomas, Kelly and Scott.

Jan’s family would like to express their thanks and deepest appreciation for the extraordinary care and compassion provided to her by Dr. Edward Liebers and his staff, and Dr. John Pezzulo.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, November 1 from 4pm – 7pm at Bekkering-Ellis Funeral Home, One Mohawk Avenue, Scotia.  A memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday, November 2 at 10:00am at the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Road (Route 50), Glenville.
