Jacqueline Ruth Welsh, 74, of Scotia, passed away unexpectedly on January 11, 2023.
She was born July 27, 1948, and was the daughter of the late Robert Hillas and Ruth (Smith) Owen.
She was a graduate of Scotia-Glenville High School, where she met her husband, William. They shared 32 years of marriage until his death in 2009. Jackie's most cherished role in life was being a mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her three children, Chad B. Welsh of Scotia, Brett C. Welsh of Scotia, and Chelsea M. Welsh (Scott) of Albany, and by two grandchildren, Isabel I. Welsh and William P. Welsh, who brought so much joy into her life. She is also survived by many adored brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Jackie was recently predeceased by her loyal companion of the last 13 years, her beloved dog, Koda.
The family would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and support.
A visitation hour will be held at 10 a.m., with funeral services beginning at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, January 18, at Bekkering-Ellis Funeral Home, Inc., 1 Mohawk Ave., Scotia.
Burial immediately following at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
