Irene J (Wojcicki) Coutant

Irene J. Coutant Scotia - Irene J. Coutant, 86, passed away at Ellis Hospital on Monday, August 19, 2024.

Born in Schenectady on December 27, 1937, Irene was the daughter of the late Caspar and Genevieve Wojcicki.

A lifelong area resident, Irene was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved fiercely and laughed infectiously.

In addition to her parents, Irene was predeceased by her sister Monica in 2020.

She is survived by her husband, Alan Coutant, daughter Sharon (Mike) Styk, son Greg (Leesa) Coutant, son Jim (Maureen) Coutant, grandchildren Stephen Styk, Brian Styk, Amy Traughber, Rachel Coutant, Sara Rizzo, Genevieve Coutant.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 23 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bekkering-Ellis Funeral Home, One Mohawk Ave., Scotia, NY 12302.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, August 24 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 231 Second Street, Scotia.

Internment will take place immediately following the mass at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, 2501 Troy-Schenectady Rd, Niskayuna, NY 12309.
