Helen Leikhim (Meholchick), 95, passed away February 23, 2018, after a short illness.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, William F. Leikhim, Sr.
Survivors include her sons John (Patricia); William (Catherine); and Paul; her four grandchildren Katie; Jeffrey; Christopher (Lindsey); and Laura (David Von Ohlen); the joy of her life, her great-granddaughter, Adelaide, whom she affectionately called 'Addy'; and her sister, Anna Wegrzynowicz. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Her son, Paul, was her major caregiver; and together with 'sister-cousin' Bernice Pierce, were her caregiving family during the last four years, when she lived at Youville House Assisted Living in Cambridge, MA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, February 26th, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 231 Second St., Scotia with the Rev. Peter Russo officiating.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 6 p.m. at Bekkering-Ellis Funeral Home, 1 Mohawk Ave., Scotia, NY on Sunday, February 25th.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Church, Building Fund.
