Genevieve T. Bailey, age 85, passed away surrounded by her family on January 24th, 2025. She was born on September 11th, 1939 in Schenectady NY to Genevieve and Benjamin Zebrowski.
Genevieve was a waitress at Mike's Hot Dogs after she graduated from Linton High School in 1957. It was there that she met the love of her life, Willard Bailey. Willard and Genevieve married in May 1964 and built their life with their 2 children, Marty and Dawn.
Genevieve was a homemaker for her family, and worked alongside her husband. Willard was a self-employed painter for 40 years, with the assistance of Genevieve. Genevieve was an avid bowler, she bowled multiple 500's and hand wrote scores. Genevieve was a life member with the Beukendaal Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
Genevieve was well known as 'Mimi' by her 6 grandchildren. Mimi watched her grandchildren frequently giving them M&Ms and pixie sticks. She took them on trips to see 'Poppops' at the fire house. Mimi utilized her craft abilities to sew her grandkids favorite stuffed animals back together, make homemade ornaments, teach them to knit, and that the best way to solve a puzzle is to do the outside edge first.
Genevieve was predeceased by her loving husband Willard Bailey, their son Daniel Robert Bailey, her parents Benjamin and Genevieve Zebrowski, her sister Theresa Karabin, and her brothers Walter and William Zebrowski.
Genevieve is survived by her children Martin (Paula) Bailey and Dawn (Frederick) Curley; as well as her grandchildren, Stephanie Bailey (Michael Brust), Morgan (Daniel) Bonitatibus, Paige Bailey (Collin Peragine), Erin Curley, Julia Curley, and John Curley; and her Great Granddaughter Charlie Bonitatibus. Genevieve is also survived by her brother Paul (Barbara) Zebrowski, sister in law Rometta Zebrowski, and numerous nieces and nephews.
