Frank "Skip" Wilcox, 92, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2025, at his home surrounded by family.
Born on November 1, 1932, to Frank and Ruth (Bradshaw) Wilcox, Skip was raised in Rotterdam Junction, New York. He graduated from Nott Terrace High School and proudly served in the United States Army. After his military service, he continued his education and earned a degree from Cornell University.
A man of determination, Skip was the longtime owner of Mohawk Acres Services and Greystone Apartments. Through his business, he earned a reputation for reliability, hard work, and a deep commitment to the community he loved. He was also heavily involved with real estate and various business ventures in the area.
Skip's contributions went far beyond his professional life. He was a dedicated volunteer, generously giving his time to organizations including Dusty Boots, Scotia-Glenville School Board, Pioneer Engine Associations and Woestina Reformed Church. His kindness, humility, and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
A true enthusiast, Skip pursued a wide range of interests. He was a passionate pilot, a devoted horse owner, tractor enthusiast, and an avid collector of historical artifacts from Schenectady County. His entrepreneurial spirit was matched only by his curiosity for life.
Skip was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ruth, and his sons Frank "Dave" and Dane. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Ellen (Nealon); his sister, Catherine Wilcox Dean Smith; his daughters Darla (Dave) Bills, Rachel (Sam) Pollard, Kelly Burke-Leaper, Karen (Robert) Gourley, and Michele (Vincent) Quatroche; grandchildren Brent (Leah) Bills, Patrick (Amanda) Wilcox, Evangeline Pollard, Devin Burke-Dinsmore, Matthew Leaper, Jacob Leaper, Katie (Josh) Dickey, Rob Gourley, Boni Quatroche, and Vincent (Kara) Quatroche; and great-grandchildren Francine, Fiona, and James.
