Francis "Fran" Lapham Obituary

Frances "Fran" Lapham Scotia - On May 28, 2024, Frances Lapham, 93, was welcomed into eternal life, reunited with her husband, Harold.

Born in Albany, she was the devoted daughter of Frances (Golden) Schilling and Ralph G. Schilling Sr.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers Dr. Ralph (Ellen) Schilling, Richard C. Schilling, Ph.D. and sister-in-law Mildred Schell.

Also left to honor her memory, is her brother Peter (Karen) Schilling, and sister-in-law Joan Schilling. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Married to the love of her life in 1951, the couple enjoyed a wonderful life together for 62 years, owned and operated a successful construction company, Harold Lapham & Sons, Inc. in Westmere, where they raised three children, formed many lifetime friends in this area, and spent winters at Lincolnshire in Largo, Florida. Throughout her life, Fran was happiest when spending time with her family, especially long summer weekends at their "getaway" on the Hudson in Lake Luzerne: golf with friends at "Bend of the River Golf Course "and her "Lincolnshire Ladies" foursome. Always cherished was the love and support of her church families at St. Paul Methodist Church in Largo and First Reformed Church in Schenectady.

Fran was the proud mother of Cynthia Gallagher, Hal Lapham, and Sharron McCullough, loving mother-in-law to James McCullough, Barbara Lapham and former son-in-law Joseph Gallagher. Grandchildren: James (Mia) McCullough, Sarah (Thomas) McBride, Nicole (Paul) Gordon, (Matthew) Murphy, Jennifer Gallagher, and Elizabeth Gallagher. Great Grandchildren: Margot and Elgin Gordon, James and Olivia McCullough, Henry McBride, and Amelia Murphy.
