Edward F. Arros (or Eddy Arros), 91, of Scotia, NY passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 2, 2022.
Eddy was born May 29, 1931 in Troy, NY.
He was a member of the Air National Guard, a Korean War Veteran and has been a Mason, Schenectady Lodge #1174, since 1960, but he is known to most as the owner of Village Auto Service in Scotia. Eddy enjoyed oil painting, and was an avid boater, spending time on various waterways between Lake Champlain and Florida. He enjoyed lengthy conversations about complex (and not so complex) subjects, and a good joke (including a good practical joke).
He was generous, a loyal friend, devoted husband, father and grandfather, and a great mentor to all.
Eddy is predeceased by his loving wife of 52 years, Janet, who passed away January 2, 2010, and his sister Louise. He is survived by his 2 daughters: Kelly (Anthony) and Denise (Charles), grandsons Demetri and Edward, and his brother John.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Thursday, July 7, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Bekkering-Ellis Funeral Home, 1 Mohawk Avenue, Scotia, NY 12302.
Funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow at Park View Cemetery, Schenectady, NY.
