Edna May (Legg) Straut

Edna M. Straut, 78, of Ballston Lake, NY, passed peacefully, on July 16th, 2017, with her loving husband by her side.

Born in Greenford, Middlesex, England, on March 21st, 1939, she was the daughter of Bert and May Legg, and the sister of her loving, late brother, John Legg. Edna was a devoted wife and mother, as well as a devoted friend to those who were blessed to know, and love her. Edna had a career as a waitress, working at many establishments and spending most of her waitressing career at Carney's on Main Street in Ballston Lake, NY. A proper English woman, displaying the utmost class and style, Edna's demeanor has won the hearts of many. She will remain a precious treasure in every heart she has ever touched.

Edna is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Louis G. Straut; her daughters, Gaile (Kevin) Kverek, Sharon (Joe) Straut, Kevin (Karen) Straut; and her grandchildren, Krysondra Kverek, Kaitlin Straut, Nicole Kverek, and Natalie Straut.

Memorial funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 22nd, 2017, at 11 a.m., at Bekkering-Ellis Funeral Home, 1 Mohawk Ave., Scotia, NY. The funeral home will be open to receive guests at 9 a.m. Relatives and guests are invited to attend.

Following the services, the celebration of Edna's life will be held at Carney's Tavern, 17 Main Street, Ballston Lake, NY.
