Douglas Brister Obituary

Douglas R Brister 64 of Amsterdam NY passed away on April 4, 2023.

He is survived by his daughter Michele Sobieski (Jeff); Siblings Jeff Brister (MaryAnn), Loriann Finn (Glen), Richard Youmans (Winnie), DeNel (Sister-in-Law).

Douglas was predeceased by his brother Brad. Grandchildren John and Tyler Sobieski. Nieces and Nephews Sara and Luke Brister, Kyle and Emily Youmans and Carly Finn.

Douglas was born in Schenectady, NY to the late Richard and Delores Brister.

He was employed by the Town of Niskayuna Highway Department. Douglas was also the owner of Tri City Tree Service.

He was an avid NY Giants fan and enjoyed the Adirondack mountains. He was passionate about family, people and friendship. He will long be remembered for his sense of humor and quick wit.

Calling hours will be Friday April 7th from 4 to 6 p.m. and a celebration of Doug's life will be held Saturday at 9:30am at Bekkering-Ellis Funeral home located at 1 Mohawk Ave. Scotia, NY 12302.
