Dorothy Bacon Kinch, 87, died on Saturday, April 15, 2017.

Born in Norwich, NY, January 12, 1930, she was the daughter of Arthur and Maude Aylesworth Bacon. Dorothy graduated from Bainbridge Central School and attended secretarial college.  She and her family resided in Sidney, NY until relocating to the Capital District in 1972 where she became active in the Bellevue Reformed Church.  Her involvement in the SICM Food Pantry program was a highlight for her and she treasured the relationships made there.  Dorothy was an intelligent and well-read woman who enjoyed music and time spent with family and friends.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Howard M. Kinch and her daughter, Rebecca J. Shepherd.  She is survived by daughters Allison (Michael) Atchley of Scotia, and Kathleen (James) Salisbury of West Sand Lake; son-in-law London Shepherd of Schenectady; grandchildren Megan Atchley of Queens, Alex Atchley of Amsterdam, Eric Zorko of Saratoga and Gregory Zorko of Madison, WI.

A memorial service with reception following will be held on Saturday, April 22nd, 2017 at 2:00pm at the First Reformed Church of Scotia, Ballston Avenue, Scotia, NY.

Contributions in Dorothy's memory may be made to the First Reformed Church of Scotia or to the Schenectady Inner City Ministry.
