Carole Mae (Schmidt) Briggs Carole Briggs, 90, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2025 at the Fulton Center for Nursing and Healing.
Born May 4, 1934, she was a lifelong resident of Scotia, NY. She graduated from Scotia High School in 1952 before studying psychology at Schenectady County Community College. She was a teller at the First National Bank of Scotia, where she met her adoring husband. They married at Scotia United Methodist Church, Scotia on June 16th, 1956. Carole was a homemaker and later a caregiver for the elderly. She was very social and an active community member. She loved being surrounded by friends and family. She had a trilling laugh and a real zest for life. Carole was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
Carole is predeceased by her loving husband of 48 years Vernon W. Briggs (April 22, 2004).
She is survived by her two sons David S. (Peggy) Briggs and William E. Briggs, 6 Grandchildren and 10 Great-Grandchildren.
A Memorial service will be held Monday, March 3rd, 2025. 9 a.m. greetings followed by a service at 10 am, at Bekkering-Ellis Funeral Home, 1 Mohawk Ave, Scotia,
She will be interred with her husband Vernon at Viewland Cemetery, Rotterdam at a later date.
