Anthony (Tony) Ferraro Sr., 89, passed away on August 21, 2021, at Ellis Hospital after a short illness.
Tony was born on January 25, 1932, in Schenectady, N.Y., He was the son of the late Frank and Catherine (Colacicco) Ferraro.
Tony was the former owner of Scotia and V.V. Lanes. Before that he was a technician for the A.M.F. Corporation.
He graduated from the Nott Terrace High School in 1950. He was a member of the football and bowling teams.
He served 4 years in the Navy Reserve, and also served as a volunteer fireman for 4 years in Schenectady. He also was a former member of the Eagles, Moose and Elks lodges.
He was married to his lovely wife of 70 years the former Barbara Cholewa. They were joined in marriage on May 26, 1951, in Schenectady, N.Y. He is survived by his wife Barbara and his four children, Anthony Jr (Donna), Donato, Patricia (Shawn) Forney, and Michael (Cheryl). Also surviving are his five grandchildren, Anthony (Vanessa) Ferraro, Lisa (Tynan) Flanagan, Michael (Irene) Ferraro, Joe (Sarha) Ferraro, Michele (Keith) Mannors, and five great grandchildren, Georgina, Marchesa and Remy Ferraro, Vincent and Thomas Flanagan.
Burial was at the St. Anthony’s Cemetery and was private with just Family.
Arrangements were made by the Bekkering-Ellis Funeral Home, Scotia N.Y.
