Ann McCann, 95, of Schenectady, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Ann is predeceased by her husband, Charles; her parents, Andrew and Isabella Manilla (Pandolfo); her sister, Madilyn Palyswiat; her son-in-law, William Wyso; her brother-in-law, Richard Peabody; and her sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Kenneth Merchant.
Ann lived a full and beautiful life rooted in faith, family, and connection. She was a proud and devoted mother to her two daughters, and her legacy continues through her three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy and pride. Her home was a reflection of that pride, filled with photos, memories, and the accomplishments of those she loved most.
Ann had a gift for making others feel special. During her many years working at Sears, she helped countless women feel confident, beautiful, and seen. That same warmth carried into every part of her life. She was known for her love of cooking, especially her Italian dishes, which became a cherished tradition passed down through generations.
She found joy in life's simple pleasures, getting her hair and nails done, chatting with neighbors, and spending meaningful time with family. A devoted fan of the New York Yankees, Ann rarely missed a game and treasured the many she attended over the years.
Ann shared a lifelong love story with her husband, Chuck, the love of her life, who faithfully drove her everywhere she needed to go, a role he embraced with humor, especially since Ann would often joke about never quite passing her driver's test.
Above all, Ann cherished her family. Time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was what she valued most. She celebrated their lives, encouraged their dreams, and made sure they always knew how proud she was of them.
Ann is survived by her sisters Alberta Peabody, daughters Diane Wyso, Kathy (Gerald) Griggs, her grandchildren Kelly (Josha) Tobin, Matthew (Erica) Griggs, Michael (Lauren) Griggs, great-grandchildren Christopher and Shamus Tobin, Charles and Phoebe Griggs.
If Ann could leave one final message, it would be this: don't stay in one place; keep moving, keep exploring, see everything you can, and never be afraid.
She will be remembered for her strength, her warmth, her humor, and the deep, unwavering love she gave so freely. She will be profoundly missed and forever carried in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
