Andrew K. Palmer passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 27, 2026. He was born in Redlands, CA, on March 31, 1967, to Kathleen Barney of St Louis, MO, and Kenneth (Kaye) Palmer of Thousand Palms, CA.
He often spoke about his early years where he spent many sunny days riding his mini horse, Miss Clairol, after school, and bringing tarantulas home to his mom in his lunchbox. He was a 1985 graduate of Immaculate Heart Central School in Watertown, NY, where he developed lifelong friendships and loved playing lacrosse. He then graduated from Jefferson Community College and began his career in manufacturing management.
He married his wife, Kristina Heggen Palmer, in Clifton Park, New York, on June 14, 1997, and they began their life together in Glenville. He was employed by International Electronic Machines Corporation (IEM) in Troy over the past many years. He has traveled the world for work, spent time with his family and friends skiing, camping, and always cooking. He enjoyed being in the chef's tent or kitchen, making his people happy and keeping them fed at all times!
He is survived by his wife and their four-legged pups, Jack, Finn and Bodhi, his parents, sisters, April (Mark) Regester of St Louis, MO, and Theresa (Jimmy) Malone of Mechanicville, NY, sisters-in-law Susan (Michael Rhodes) Heggen of Ballston Spa, NY, and Lyn Heggen of Clifton Park, NY, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Family, friends and others are invited to join in calling hours on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., with a service at 11 a.m. at the Bekkering Ellis Funeral Home at 1 Mohawk Avenue, Scotia, NY, 12302 to grieve, support, and reminisce. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Mountain Rottie Rescue of New York.
