Deborah J. Fawcett Rotterdam - Deborah J. Fawcett, age 58, of Rotterdam, NY, passed away Monday, January 16, 2017 after she lost her four year battle with breast cancer.

Born September 12, 1958 in Wallingford, CT. She moved from Houston, TX to Schenectady in 1986. She graduated from Sam Houston State University in Texas. Employed as an accountant at Texico in Texas, accountant at visiting nurses of Schenectady, self employed with her husband for 12 years at AC appliance, accountant at Coccas, finance officer at 1st National Bank of Scotia.

She was a member of the Rotterdam Elks Lore, Schenectady Youth Leaders, Cobleskill Country Club, Camp Bravehearts in Albany. Deborah was an avid bowler, junior bowling coach, golfer, boccie, first woman to bowl a 300 at Scotia lanes in 78 years. She completed two skydive jumps at Mohawk Skydiving in Scotia.

She was married on May 13, 1978 to Stephen G. Fawcett in New Orleans, Louisiana.

She was predeceased by her father, Joseph McKechnie. Survivors include her husband, Stephen G. Fawcett; daughter, Amanda (Fawcett) McGuire; son in-law, Michael McGuire; son, Christopher Fawcett, Mother Dorothy (Voight) McKechnie; best friend, Toby Cass; brother, Stuart McKechnie; uncles and cousins and many friends.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours, Saturday, January 28, 2017 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
